Comment:   This specimen is a female of a large and taxonomically complex genus, which is endemic to the Western and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa, and also occurs in Namibia. The species are all superficially difficult to distinguish, especially the females without associated males. They are often attracted to light in large numbers. Larvae live freely in sand.
