Birds with Odd Plumages

Record details

BOP:   16
Province:   Eastern Cape
Country:   South Africa
Locus:   3326CD
Observer:   Whittington P.
Date of record:   2011-08-10
Number of photos:   1
Notes:   This bird was photographed at Bird Island in 10 August 2011 and was only present for the one day. However, I believe it had also been seen on St Croix Island by Lorienne Pichgrieu and Lloyd Edwards prior to our sighting at Bird Island. I assumed that this was a leucistic individual as it also does not have pink eyes but is certainly the palest African Penguin I have seen.
