Long, slender bill, greenish legs and peaked crown point to Common Reed Warbler. Yes, occurs close to water and also forrages in drier habitats away from water.
Compare with Great Reed Warbler (similar habitat, legs also pale, grey/brown/pink) which has a sturdier bill, broader & longer eyebrow and much harsher, croaking call.
Habitat and leg colour eliminate most other warblers. |
