BirdPix:   36190
Province:   Mpumalanga
Country:   South Africa
Locus:   2431CD
Observer:   Kennedy D.
Date of record:   2017-03-21
Number of photos:   1
Notes:   Not easy to spot - start at the base of the main trunk at the bottom right of the photo. A litle way up the main trunk a lesser trunk, also covered in lichen, moves off to the left at a shallow angle. About two-thirds of the way up this lesser trunk you will see the woodpecker's back to the right of the trunk. If you look carefully you will see between the lesser trunk and a vertical branch on its left the woodpecker's black and white facial markings.
