Photo's are heavily cropped and therefore very small so the identification is not easy. This large raptor has a long tail, and has long broad wings with slow flapping flight. The one photo suggests a white rump which was visible during the sighting. The white primaries are just visible in the photos and there does appear to be some markings on the head. My guess is a juvenile Harrier-Hawk, or perhaps a Buzzard? |
