We watched how the adult pair protected and fed the nestlings for a couple of weeks. The first photo is a week before the last two. One of the nestlings was very keen to get out the nest, but the adults objected vehemently with rallies of warning calls. An eagle-owl was perched two trees away. The next evening, all three chicks had flown the coup, and were keeping the adults very busy feeding as the three fledglings were moving from tree to tree in different directions. This morning we saw two of the fledglings in the vicinity and one adult feeding them. The third was elsewhere, hopefully being attended to by the other adult. |
