BirdPix:   4379
Province:   Mpumalanga
Country:   South Africa
Locus:   2431CD
Observer:   Kennedy David
Date of record:   2013-08-16
Number of photos:   3
Notes:   Interesting sighting - according to the Singita guides, first sighting ever in that area of this species. All the guides who could be spared from duty came out to see them. The ducks had first appeared in a waterhole not too far from this sighting location. A herd of elephants seeking water startled them, and they flew to this location, only a k or so away. But the ducks were now very nervous, so we could not approach more closely. As a result the photos are poor, taken at maximum distance.
