This is either a species of Cueta or Myrmecaelurus - not sure. Both of these are widespread in Africa, although Myrmecaelurus species do bnot extend as far as southern Africa. The larvae of both build pits, and Myrmecaelurus larvae can also walk forwards. Very good to see specimens from Sudan where the Neuroptera fauna is rich, but poorly studied. |
