Possibly H. reconditus, but cannot be sure without dissections of the males. H. reconditus is is widespread in Africa and beyond (Saudi Arabia, Yemen). In SA it is known from most provinces. All known larvae of Hemerobiidae are voracious and active predators that live on plants and actively pursue prey such as aphids and other small Homoptera. They are consequently valuable biocontrol agents. |
