Comment:   This species is seldom encountered, so a very useful record. It is known from SA, Mozambique and Swaziland, and in SA from KZN and Mpumalanga. The only previous record from Swaziland is from Malalotja Reserve. Nothing is known about its biology, but Italochrysa species are known to be inquilines in ant's nests in the larval stage, similar to lycaenid butterflies.
