Comment:   This is another valuable record of the family. This species is known from Limpopo and KZN and extends into Mozambique and Zambia. Osmylids are rarely encountered, but widespread in southern and central Africa. The larvae are semi-aquatic, living on the edges of streams where they prey on larvae of Chironomidae (Diptera) and other soft-bodied insects that live in the water. Very nice record!
