Comment:   I'm leaning towards D. scabra because of colouration and its resemblance to record 168342, which has a dark mouth lining. This individual also lacks the "3–8 narrow, anteriorly-directed V-shapes on the neck" which is supposedly indicative of D. medici.

Comment:   Confirmed by Dr Mike Bates (in litt. 10 Dec 2018). "VMUS 168368 is really a bit problematic. The chevrons on the neck in medici may be as few as one or two, and look similar to the photographed specimen, but to me the latter’s colour pattern is in fact more scabra than medici. If forced to make a call I think I would now go with scabra."
