Comment:   Interesting specimen. I wonder if it might be Pedioplanis laticeps? Or a Meroles? Probably the latter. We need to check on these lizards. They are of taxonomic interest.

Comment:   I recently collected some Heliobolus that had a similar colour pattern to these Sutherland lizards. So that's where my provisional ID stands for now. But Sutherland is way out of range for this species.

Comment:   I suggest it is a Pedioplanis. It is however not identifiable to species from this picture. The rough scale effect I suggest is a digital enhancement artefact - probably from excessive sharpening.
