Atlas of African Baboon Spiders

Record details

   [ Record 7 of 232 ]
SpiderMAP:   1289
Province:   Free State
Country:   South Africa
Locus:   2926AA
Observer:   Steenkamp Rudolph Christiaan
Date of record:   2013-06-10
Number of photos:   2
Notes:   This black button spider had no markings whatsoever on her. I heard that the markings fade and disappear with age, so this would be a very old spider. She was very defensive with her egg sacs and she would put her legs on the egg sacs and with the right front leg make circular movements, possibly to intimidate me.
