This species is very widespread in southern and central Africa, from South Africa to DRC and including all of the southern African countries. The genus is taxonomically complex and requires some revision. Adults are cryptically grey, hirsute antlions. The large black larvae have very stout mandibles and live freely in sand. The adults are very cryptic when resting on bark and are sometimes called “bark antlions” |
