Comment:   Hacker lists 15 species under the genus Naarda for subsaharan Africa. Only three of the underlying museum-species were found in South Africa, namely N. flavisignata (very similar to Polypogon leucopis), N. nigripalpis and N. xanthopis. No sample of N. flavisignata was from the southeast of SA or KZN. N. xanthopis is a dark brown species, where only the lower line is not merged into the overall color. N. nigripalpis is the most widespread species of these 3. And it features the yellow stigma, often with a dark spot in it. In this observation there are 2 black points in the stigma. Probably Polygon melanommoides.
