Comment:   This species occurs in Mozambique and in northern KZN of South Africa, where it is fairly frequent in the coastal dune forests of iSimangaliso Park, Sodwana Bay, kosi Bay, Lake Sibaya and southwards to Cape Vidal. Also records from Ndumu Game Reserve. The larvae are typical pit builders and usually construct their pits around the bases of trees.
