Comment:   Fairly common and widespread in the northern parts of South Africa. Occurs in grassy areas, and is attracted to light. Larvae unknown. Males have very characteristic "epaulets" on the thorax - hence the name "bicristatus" – clearly visible in the photos. Also known from Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, with a few records from Zambia
