Comment:   This brown lacewing species is very widespread in Africa: Ethiopia Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritius, Comores, Reunion. In SA it is known from ECape and KZN. The species is highly variable, complicating its identification. All known larvae of Hemerobiidae are voracious and active predators that live on plants and actively pursue prey such as aphids and other small Homoptera. They are consequently valuable biocontrol agents.
