Comment:   Another member of this beautiful Cape endemic genus. This species is centred around the Calvinia, Clanwilliam and Vanrhynsdorp area, extending from Keisie Pass to Graafwater, Hondeklipbaai and Vanrhynsdorp. It is only the sixth locality recorded for this rare species – so very welcome. Unlike other species, P. contaminatus appears to favour areas of flat open veld with open patches, not associated with rocks, lichen or karoo and fynbos. Nothing is known of their larvae.
