This species appears to be a South African endemic, known mainly from the Eastern Cape with few records from W Cape and KZN. The adults are rarely encountered, most recorded specimens being reared from larvae, including the Grahamstown Botanical gardens. Larvae live on rock ledges, well concealed in small recesses and camouflaged by layers of fine dust. They are sit-and-wait predators and can remain motionless for extended periods of time. A very interesting find, and a first for lacewing map. |
