Comment:   This species is very widespread in Africa and beyond, probably one of the widest distributions of all know Neuroptera. It has consequently been described many times from different parts of the world under different names Known as far afield as India, Australia, France and many other countries. All known larvae of Hemerobiidae are voracious and active predators that live on plants and actively pursue prey such as aphids and other small Homoptera. They are consequently valuable biocontrol agents.
