Originally described from Victoria Falls - hence the name cataractae. This is a very large and robust species that is uncommon, occasionally being attracted to light. Known from the northern and eastern parts of SA, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. It is one of the early summer fliers. Larvae unknown. |
