Comment:   Cannot confirm the species, possibly one of the undescribed taxa. Syngenes all have large white larvae that live freely in sand and are very active. One species, S. longicornis is common in dune sand along the sea shore (fringe vegetation) of the Eastern Cape and further into Mozambique
