Comment:   Very nice record of this scarce species. The genus is mostly western in distribution, but this species also occurs in the eastern parts of SA and extends into Zimbabwe and records from Botswana. The collection date is also interesting, confirming that it is one of the few owlflies that are present in winter. Nothing is know about immature stages.
