Found in thick, soft sand in an open clearing in sandy woodland. Three individuals found within about 50cm of each other. The burrows are out in the open. The trapdoor lid is soft and cloth-like with sand grains attached. The lid is almost rolled or folded back when the spider opens the burrow. The spider itself is noticeably elongated and resembles a gigantic ant in shape. The abdomen is reddish-brown. The fangs are large! |
