This is the larva of Syngenes medialis, which has only recently been described (Mansell 2018. The beautiful white larvae live in deep loose sand and are very active, but do not construct pits. These larvae are very similar to the coastal species, S. longicornis, which live in beach sand. A very nice find because they are usually difficult to detect. |
