Comment:   this is another Western and Northern Cape endemic, extending as far as the eastern Cape, where it is replaced further northwards by its sister-species(adelphotaxon) P. caffer. observe the beautuiful metallic blue markings on the wings of P. speciosus which, incidentally, was the first antlion to be described from Africa by Linnaeus. Larvae unknown
