this appears to be a heavily marked specimen of N. chloranthe. This is fairly common and widespread species, occurring over most of South Africa. Readily attracted to light. The larvae live concealed on dusty rock ledges in small caves and under rock overhangs. The Gifberg seems to be a very rick locality, and epitomizes the rich lacewing fauna that occurs along the great escarpment. |
