With the proportions of this species, wings, tail, and body, this species falls within the scope of either an African or Common Cuckoo. With only brown markings on this bird, African Cuckoo can be ruled out, as juv. African, which is most similarly marked to this bird, as grey barring as opposed to brown barring. Barred Long-tailed Cuckoo has a smaller body and wing, and a proportionally much longer tail, which does not fit this bird. |
