An interesting interaction between large animal and bird.... We had followed the buffalo for some miles. They were tired and thirsty, and when they came to this small waterhole many started running at full tilt straight into the water. There must have been upwards of 150 buffalo, all thirsty, all plunging into this pool to cool off. In the pool swam two Egyptian Geese - yet the huge, thirsty animals contrived to leave an undisturbed area in which the two birds swam. The geese turned not a feather: they seemed to realise that they had nothing to fear. Was this chance or organisation? Any opinions would be gratefully received. |
