Comment:   My initial ID of Montaspis gilvomaculata was heavily influenced by the labial spots. Marius has pointed out several other features which make Many-spotted Snake more likely. I will leave this one to the experts!

Comment:   Appearance and markings similar to Amphlorhinus multimaculatus (Many-spotted Snake). As far as I know Montaspis gilvomaculata is blackish dorsally without the markings in the specimen photographed.

Comment:   Other than the pronounced white markings on upper labials, all other characters (e.g. colouration & number of upper labials) point to Amphlorinus.
