Southern African Reptile Conservation Assessment

Record details

   [ Record 22 of 254 ]
:   2915
Province:   KwaZulu-Natal
Country:   South Africa
Locus:   3030CD
Observer:   Vos P.
Date of record:   2007-04-23
Number of photos:   3
Notes:   2.15pm; overcast & warm. Big fellow (about 1;2m) on bird-feeder lawn with head in leaf-litter in garden. Nervous when caught - strong musk on hands - but no attempts to bite. Settled in bucket & eased into leaf-litter on release in bush. Considered Amblyodipsas concolor because of purple sheen; but too big? `Battered` skin and sheen indicates imminent slough?
