Probably a Leopard Tortoise (Geochelone pardalis), but a better view of the carapace is needed for a positive identification. |

Nuchal scale absent = Geochelone pardalis. Several populations are known in the south-western Cape, but these were formed by introductions in recent years. This region is not part of its natural distribution range. |
