Comment:   Tragelaphus spekii selousi - Sitatunga. This is the only subspecie present in the southern African section, replaced further up by the East African Sitatunga (T. s. spekii). SOuthern subsp. tends to be quite uniformly coloured in a dark brown, with no prominent markings on the body.
