Country:   Zambia

Number of photos:   2
Notes:   This enormous mole rat was scurrying across a gravel-surface road, a few km NW of Mpika. I didn't get the exact coordinates. It is called 'Imfuko' in Bemba, and is a local delicacy, often sold along the roads (alive) dangled off a stick by the backleg. This one was killed by some kids. It must have been close to 30cm long head to tail.
