MammalMAP:   17270
Province:   other
Country:   Zambia
Locus:   1130CD
Observer:   Huchzermeyer Carl
Date of record:   2016-03-02
Number of photos:   3
Notes:   Ran right up to where I was hidden watching some buffalo... had very clear view of it's rufous hindquarters, as well as the grizzled fur. Far more red-brown than south african ones. Also, this animal was very large, body seemed longer than the 60cm given in the literature. Had a very characteristic bouncing trot, rather than the slinking one would expect from a long animal with short legs.
