Heliosciurus mutabilis mutabilis - present from southern Malawi. They can have a very bright cinnamon, rufous or chestnut colouration after moulting, as seen here. Not Paraxerus palliatus, as they don't have the bands on the tail which is present in Heliosciurus, with mutabilis they have up to 10. |
