This huge group of banded mongeese were keen to get from one side of the back playing field to the school buildings across the other side (the dustbins full of leftover food no doubt). Problem is, there is no cover from possible arial attack by a Crowned Eagle which had been around the precinct at that time. They would slip through the pallisade fencing, advance a few metres and then scurry back to safety....several times. A large group of vervet monkeys on the field at the time decided, to coax them on, and keep guard for them. Several advances and retreats later, the vervets eventually urged them on and they made a dash for it, watched over by the vervet heros! |
