Notes:   Hippo in the Savuti River. In 1980 the Savuti River dried up. 28 years later, towards the end of 2008, it began flowing again. The reason for this was probably small shifts along the line of the Gumare Fault, which controls the direction of the Linyanti River. This fault marks the north-western edge of the African Rift Valley.
