   [ Record 11 of 15 ]
MammalMAP:   3532
Province:
Country:   Botswana
Locus:   1823DA
Observer:   Kennedy David; Photography; Dave; Anne; Tina; Samantha Kennedy
Date of record:   2012-04-21
Number of photos:   3
Notes:   This young elephant was offended by the presence of the starling at his waterhole, so he began a dominance display involving, inter alia, much scattering of water about the place (first two photographs). The starling, far from being intimidated, knew exactly that it was doing, and had a great time grabbing and eating tiny frogs and other small water life unintentionally scattered about by the elephant. Makes one wonder how much water-life is unintentionally ingested by elephants. Accepted into birdpix:607 by Les Underhill on 2012-09-23:12-45-15
