This magnificent species is endemic to South Africa, and its distribution is largely centred in the Karoo and Namaqualand. It is characterized by the long, narrow, sinuate and mottled wings that afford very effective camouflage when these large insects are at rest. The large black larvae live freely in sand. This is a first for the Lacewing map! And a very nice record. |
