Comment:   There are two different species here! The first is aCueta trivirgata, the second Myrmeleon doralice. C. tfivirgata is common and widespread in southern Africa and easily be confused with other Cueta species. The pit-building larvae occur in hard soil in completely exposed situations. All Cueta larvae are pinkish in colour, and are impossible to distinguish from one another.M. doralice is fairly widespread and common in southern Africa extending northwards to Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Kenya. The characteristic pink larvae construct pitfall traps.
