Commonly known as "silky" or "moth lacewings"This species is fairly common the eastern and northern parts of southern Africa, extending from Swaziland northwards into Zimbabwe and Malawi. Larvae live around the bases of trees in leaf detritus, and females are known to coat their eggs with sand for protection. Larvae resemble those of antlions, but with no internal teeth on the mandibles. |
