Comment:   This beautiful owlfly is fairly widespread in the northern provinces of South Africa, Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and KZN, although it is seldom encountered. It is also known from Botswana and Zimbabwe. Mature specimens often have a white chalky covering at the wing apices. Nothing is known about the immature stages.
