This species is very similar to Chrysemosa jeanelli, but is much rarer and more restricted in its occurrence range. Currently only known from Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West provinces. The biology is probably similar to C. jeanelli, whose larvae are elongate with sharply-pointed sickle-shaped jaws that inserted into prey. They are free-living on plants where they prey on aphids and other small soft-bodied prey-species. |
