Notes:   This is a Verreaux's Eagle nest like no other I know of. These Eagles might be fearless, powerfull hunters but their nests are vulnerable at the best of times. They rely on inaccessibility for protection at least against Baboons and Monkeys. This nest can be walked onto by a person let alone the primates and a host of other egg and or chick predators. And yet this pair raised a chick last year and the year before. It is inconceivable to me that predators would not want to rob the nest and I can only think that the pair are never far from the nest and that all predators know what will happen to them if they approach the nest. I never got a photo of the presumable female before she left the nest because she was too quick for me. I took these photos quickly and came a way from the nest. By the time we got to the foot of the ridge (20 mins)she was back on the nest.
