This species appears to be a Northern Cape endemic. Known from Kalahari Gemsbok Park, Tswalu, Vanzylsrus, with one record from the Western Cape. The males are characterized by long. lyrate ectoprocts - hence the name "Proctolyra" Larvae live upside down in hollows under stones and seem to be able to endure intense heat. |
