McMurtry, D.M. #14734: Rocky grassveld on steep north slope. Sympodial terrestrial ? 340mm tall in flower. Hysteranthus. This specimen legit Herbert Stearker of Austria. Note all seed capsules had been grazed/eaten by ?. This is one of two plants observed on 9OCT2012 -vide series DM14640 - 41. One was in flower the other with numerous seed capsules; vide digi 13825 - 28 & 13852 - 62. On 9OCT2012 observe that Triumfetta cf welwitschii could well serve as the pollination model for Eulophia cf. callichroma at this locality. Finally this specimen is the voucher for DNA leaf sample [in silica] taken by Stearker to Florent Martos (of Reunion) at Bews Herbarium, PMB. |
