This is a very interesting record. For whatever reason very few Thestors has ever been found in the Cederberge. The only species recorded is Thestor Vansoni, a small yellow skolly that flies from September to mid November. This is a black Thestor so clearly not Vansoni. Unfortunately the black thestors are very hard to ID especially since one has never been recorded here. I can narrow it down to either T. petra, T. rileyi, T. brachycera or even maybe an undescribed Thestor. |
